History

Our trek started in a small Colorado garage over 40 years ago. Since then, we've been travelling the world on the backs and shoulders of the best photographers on the planet. We've learned. We've innovated. We've become a leader. For over 40 years, we've worked to develop and perfect camera carrying systems - maybe to the point of obsession. But we've never stopped at just innovating and improving products. We strongly believe that we owe it to ourselves, and to our industry, to do whatever we possibly can to protect and save the environment. We take as much pride in this aspect of our business as in the work we put into the products.

WHAT’S THE USE OF MAKING PRODUCTS THAT LAST FOREVER, IF THE SUBJECT MATTER KEEPS DISAPPEARING?

We are members of alliances, conservancies, societies and our world in general. Animals, landscapes, all of nature, pristine and wild have always been our muse and our mentor, and because we want to preserve the world for generations of photographers to come, we’re committed to doing our part right now to conserve it. From everyday things like recycling, reducing waste and conserving energy to sweeping efforts on behalf of polar bears and more, Lowepro celebrates the power of human beings to make a difference in the natural world.  
 
We live in a marvelous world.  One where everything’s possible; nothing is inevitable; and we all have a part to play.
